Rocking it at RAMFEST

Local legends, Van Coke Kartel, will be co-headlining with a full set for the first time since their final tour in 2017.

Music fans with a more alternative taste will have the opportunity to rock out to some of the best local and international bands to grace South Africa’s heavy metal and rock stages.

The event that brought us bands such as Attila (USA), and I See Stars (USA) have announced their 2020 lineup.

RAMFEST is back and will be at the Voortrekker Monument in Pretoria on 14 March. An insane line-up of musicians will take the stage with the sole goal of making sure everyone enjoys the unforgettable event.

The Cape Town and Pretoria events will feature two killer headliners and a diverse line-up of local musicians.

Death Metal giants, The Black Dahlia Murder, will be visiting South Africa to take over the RAMFEST stage as the international headliners. The show is not to be missed. The band has promised a set featuring some of their new material!

Francois van Coke expressed his excitement for the event by saying, “RAMFEST is resurrecting the Kartel for their Cape Town and Pretoria events. It is also a massive privilege to co-headline with the death metal kings, Black Dahlia Murder. Very amped to play at RAM! Can’t wait!”

RAMFEST will have two stages, each for a vastly different music genre. The main stage will be the band stage, and the second stage will be electronic.

The main stage will features the headliners and the local bands (including Roodepoort’s very own, Man As Machine). The mainstage line-up includes:

• Van Coke Kartel

• The Black Cat Bones

• Newtown Knife Gang

• Truth and its Burden

• Man As Machine

• LA Cobra

• Sunken State

• Caution Boy

The TOY TOY stage is appealing to the lovers of underground house and techno with their awesome line-up:

• Trancemicsoul

• Lady M

• Kyle Russouw

• Black Lake

Doors open at 3pm on 14 March and the event ends at 1am on 15 March.

Right of admission is reserved and no under 18s will be allowed to attend (IDs will be checked so don’t leave them at home). No student cards will be accepted, only South African IDs. Passports are the only form of international identification that will be accepted. Copies of IDs must be certified and no photos of identification documents will be accepted.

Prohibited items include:

• Bad attitudes

• Illegal substances

• Weapons and firearms

• Cooler boxes

• Pets and animals (excluding guide dogs)

• Alcohol (will be on sale at the venue)

• Food, snacks or beverages (will be on sale at the venue)

• No seating gear such as folding chairs and no folding tables

• Any items deemed by security or management to be dangerous or disruptive
