Zandspruit hip hop group nominated for best newcomer award

The group has been working on a nine-track extended play record which was supposed to be out in June.

Traphouse Gang from Zandspruit in Honeydew is the name to look out for as this hip hop crew is taking the music industry by storm.

The group consists of 11 members with Boss Lady being the only female in the group. Six of the members are rappers. Currently three of the group’s songs, namely All the Time, Vuku?phande and Hate have officially dropped on Soundcloud.

The group has been working on a nine-track extended play record which was supposed to be out in June.

“We’re also working on dropping visuals for Vuku-phande which are bound to come out after the winter season. We’re planning on opening our own record label, which will be known as THG Records and the aim is to sign one of the best rappers from the north and surrounding neighbourhoods in Johannesburg,” said Tumelo Motumi who goes by the stage name Golden Gupta.

According to the group, what makes them stand out from the rest is their unique sound that is brought to life by individual artists who sound different, but possess the modern flow of hip hop.Hard work has paid off for Traphouse Gang as they have been nominated for an award for Best Newcomer under the Mzansi Arts and Music Awards.
