Mr Price issues their annual cycling challenge

The decade-old event had previously only been for elite athletes, but this year the challenge will be going virtual, meaning anybody can enter the event regardless of their location.

Fun-filled exercise and charitable donations go hand in hand. The Mr Price Foundation Challenge, in association with the Comrades Marathon, is a global fundraising event for participants of all ages and levels.

The decade-old event had previously only been for elite athletes, but this year the challenge will be going virtual, meaning anybody can enter the event regardless of their location. Partnering with the world-renowned ultra-marathon gives sporting enthusiasts an option to lace up their running shoes or jump on the saddle for a good cause.

Aimed at raising funds for the Mr Price Foundation to break the cycle of poverty and inequality in South Africa, this is a challenge with a purpose. On 5 and 6 December, global participants of all ages can choose to cycle one of five incremental levels, starting at 10km all the way up to 606km. Alternatively, they can hop on the shoelace express and run either 3km, 7km or 21km for the red-capped brand’s charity initiative.

Entries cost R199 per participant with everyone who completes their chosen distance receiving a Mr Price Foundation Challenge medal. Athletes of all sizes can enter at mrpricefoundationchallenge.org and if you are in Roodepoort, let us know which distance you are taking on and we could cover your efforts.
