It’s tennis time

CRAIGHALL PARK – Local tennis club sees children and their parents joining forces for a tournament.

It was smashing fun when a Game Set Match Tennis Academy tournament was held at Craighall Tennis Club on 19 May.

Youngsters and their parents joined forces for the first Parent-Child Doubles Tournament.

“It was a super fun round-robin tournament, with an 80s tennis theme that saw lots of competitive yet fun tennis,” said academy owner, Carla Farina.

The tournament was won by father and son duo Russell and Jamie Sacks, closely followed by Milo and Simon Thornhill-Davis. James Yuill won the prize for the best-dressed tennis player.

“These tournaments are a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon and the whole family is encouraged to come down and join in the festivities.”

Farina said the next Parent-Child Doubles Tournament will probably be held in July.
