Golf day co-ordinator Diane Pithey explained that the enthusiasm continued off the course, with every auction and raffle item sold demonstrating the generosity and commitment of players and supporters who contributed to the fundraising effort.
The event’s key sponsors included Tourvest Destination Retail, home of The Park’s Shop, and aha Hotels & Lodges.
Tourvest Destination Retail operations executive Frans Cornelissen emphasised the enduring partnership between Tourvest and the SANParks Honorary Rangers, two teams united in safeguarding South Africa’s natural heritage, while SANParks Honorary Rangers CEO Jimmy Telle shared inspiring updates on projects funded by past golf days, including:
• The Kruger Carnivore Fund: In partnership with Painted Wolf Wines, the Endangered Wildlife Trust, and Tourvest Destination Retail, 20 lions in northern Kruger are being collared to combat poaching – seven collars are already in place.
• Flood relief: Following the devastating January 2026 floods, the SANParks Honorary Rangers provided critical financial and volunteer support to the Kruger National Park.
• Kruger cheetah census: Running from September 1 to August 31, 2027, this census calls on everyone to report cheetah sightings.
