YEOVILLE - A Metro police vehicle which was allegedly driving at high speed collided with two cars, two pedestrians and smashed into a streetlight pole in Yeoville.

A Metro police vehicle which was allegedly driving at high speed collided with two cars, two pedestrians and smashed into a streetlight pole in Yeoville.

Police spokesperson Constable Thabo Malatji said the two pedestrians were taken to hospital.

“One had head injuries and one was also injured, but I still have to confirm his condition.”

According to an eyewitness, who identified himself as Jabulani, the Metro police vehicle was driving at a high speed.

He said, “It was not just driving fast, it was flying. One pedestrian just flew and fell on top of another car, I think it was about five metres away.”
