HILLBROW - A car owner recovered his stolen car which he was purloined 17 months ago.

A car owner recovered his vehicle that was stolen 17 months ago.

The owner of the car was walking in Hillbrow when he spotted it parked at the intersection of Edith Carvell and Wolmarans streets. He reported the matter at the Hillbrow Police Station. According to police, the owner showed them the case number which was registered with the Orange Farm Police Station in February last year.

Hillbrow police spokesperson, Constable Mduduzi Zondo, said the police swiftly responded to the owner’s report and went to the place where the car was parked. “The police found the car parked with one occupant and he was arrested for being in possession of a stolen car. The car is a white Ford Ranger. The suspect was expected to make his first appearance at the Hillbrow Magistrate’s Court soon,” said Zondo.
