Young UK organ star to perform in Parktown

English musician Clive Driskill-Smith (35), hailed as the ‘star of a new generation’, will perform at the second St George’s organ concert on 25 October in Parktown.

Driskill-Smith is regarded as one of the leading organists of his generation, with critics lauding his performances as truly breathtaking.

He is a highly decorated and well-travelled performer who is currently sub-organist at Christ Church in Oxford. He also teaches the organ at the Royal Academy of Music and is a liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Musicians.

His concerts at St George’s will include pieces for organ and trumpet, on which he will be accompanied by Jevon O’Donovan, one of South Africa’s most talented and versatile trumpeters who has performed in genres ranging from punk rock and gospel to classical music.

He is expected to perform the popular and much-loved Toccata and Fugue by Bach, as well as other beautiful organ pieces.
