King David Linksfield honours Madiba

LINKSFIELD - The entire campus of King David Linksfield, joined by parents, teachers and honoured guests, united to pay their respects to former President Nelson Mandela.

Starting off the assembly, Rabbi Ovadia Sofer gave an address, followed by a touching tribute to Madiba by Mthunzi Mdwaba.

Mdwaba a guest speaker, who also serves as group chief executive officer of Torque Holdings (Proprietary) Limited told the guests about a myriad of opportunities they have as a result of Mandela’s fight for freedom in South Africa.

Each part of the school, young and old alike, contributed to the memorable occasion with songs, poems and kind words.

Even the grounds’ staff joined in to bring the assembly to a close, with the school choir singing the national anthem.
