The investigation, which took place at Pieter Toerien’s Montecasino Theatre, saw Alan Committie in the role of the famed Belgian detective, along with Graham Hopkins as Dr James Shepard, leading a fully capable cast of Dianne Simpson as Caroline Shepard, Dean Goldblum as Ralph Paton, Sharon Spiegel Wagner as Helen Russel, Brett Krüger as Parker, Sarah Wolhuter as Ursula Bourne, Mary-Anne Wright as Flora Ackroyd, Michael Richard as Major Hector Blunt, Mike Huff as Roger Ackroyd, and Russel Savadier as Inspector Raglan.

Each and every performer made the show enjoyable, but especially Committie, whose accent, round belly, and moustache cast him as a fantastic Poirot. His back-and-forth with Claire’s Gertrude, especially a scene where he is hidden from her view, had the crowd in stitches, thanks to Alan Swerdlow’s masterful direction.
