Photograph your potholes
THE PARKS - The Rosebank Killarney Gazette invites all living in its distribution area to send photos of all potholes they come across in their areas.
The aim is to send these photos to the Johannesburg Roads Agency, thereby holding them accountable for fixing the potholes.
Working together as a community to hold the municipality accountable could work better than working as individuals. Send us a photo of your pothole and caption it with the following information:
- Where is the pothole (street name)
- Have you complained to the council about it? If yes please send the reference.
- How long has it been there?
- Tell us how it’s been bothering you.
Parktown resident Ilana Alroy said she had been calling the roads agency since January regarding a pothole in front of her premises. She said after logging the complaint with the agency a couple of times she was apparently told “the matter should be solved today as a job card had been issued”. However, the pothole still has not been attended to.
Roads agency spokesperson Bertha Peters-Scheepers told Rosebank Killarney Gazette that their team had several potholes reported on Oxford Road, which they have started repairing and aim to complete the area by the end of 21 February.
