27 years for murderer

Hillbrow Magistrate’s Court had sentenced a man to years in prison for murder.

A man was sentenced in the Hillbrow Magistrate’s Court to 27 years in prison for murder.

The convicted murderer had stabbed his victim in the neck at the corner of Banket and Pretoria streets in June last year.

Police spokesperson Constable Mduduzi Zondo said the 27-year-old suspect had fled Johannesburg to Kwazulu-Natal.

Zondo said the suspect had then returned to Johannesburg. He said, “After he came back the police tracked him down and arrested him.”

He voiced the police’s gratitude for the hard work shown by the investigative officer and the assistance by the community in solving the case. “Sergeant Jay Naidu worked very hard in investigating this case and the information from the public really helped us for the successful conviction,” Zondo remarked.
