Man doused in paint and set alight
JOBURG - ER24 said a man was left in a critical condition after being doused in paint and set alight in Johannesburg CBD on 6 April.
ER24 paramedics arrived at the intersection of Klein and De Villiers Streets and found an angry crowd standing around a severely injured man.
According to ER24, paramedics immediately assessed the screaming man and he had been severely burned on the lower part of his body.
“Once on route to a nearby hospital in Johannesburg, paramedics treated and stabilised the patient, covering his burns with special dressings. He was handed over to the hospital in a critical but stable condition,” said ER24’s Russel Meiring.
The cause of the incident was unknown and police were investigating.
