Missing girl found after 2 months
SANDRINGHAM - A woman has pleaded with the community to help find her domestic worker's daughter, Bridget Mkwanazi.

Missing Children South Africa has confirmed that 15-year-old Bridget Mkhwanazi has been found alive.
This was after the teenager went missing from her home in Ivory Park on 2 March. Her mother, Martha said when police found her daughter, she was on the roadside and told the police that a man had kidnapped her and taken her to her his place. “However, my daughter managed to escape unharmed.
She was taken to the hospital and also for councelling,” said Mkhwanazi.
She added that her and her husband had since taken Bridget back to Zimbabwe, their country of origin. “We have placed her in a boarding school and trust that she will be safe there,” she said.
Mkhanazi said she was grateful to the newspaper for raising awareness on her daughter’s disappearance. “Although she went missing in Ivory Park, I live and work in Sandringham and it was helpful to have the paper place her picture in one of their issues,” she explained.

Initial report: 24 March 2014 – The 15-year-old allegedly went missing from her cousin’s home in Ivory Park on 2 March and was wearing a navy blue tracksuit top, a red T-shirt, jeans, and black and white takkies. Mkwanzi was last seen at 3pm.
Mkwanzi’s mother, Martha said her daughter, who is the youngest of two girls, loved sport. “I plead with anyone with information on my daughter’s whereabouts to contact us. We miss her and want her to come home,” said Martha.
The teen, who is a Grade 9 pupil has brown eyes, black hair and is of medium build. A missing person’s case has been opened with the Ivory Park police station.
