Road closures due to ANCYL march

Residents and motorists who travel to the north are warned of possible traffic disturbances due to an ANC Youth League (ANCYL) march taking place today (5 June).

According to a statement released by the Gauteng ANCYL, they were marching to the Mail & Guardian building in Rosebank. The league has accused the newspaper of being a “willing propagandist of a counter-revolution against the ANC”.

Spokesperson for the Joburg Metro police, Wayne Minnaar, roads will be affected due to the march and they include:

  •  Northumberland Street
  •  7th Street in Parktown North
  • Jan Smuts Avenue.

Motorists are advised to find alternative routes between 11am and 1pm.
