Yeoville police arrested a man for allegedly being in possession of stolen toilet paper rolls.

According to police, they were on their routine patrol when they saw a man carrying a big bag at the corner of Cavendish Road and Hopkins Street.

Yeoville police spokesperson Constable Thabo Malatji said, “Police stopped him and they searched the bag and found packets of toilet rolls.”

Malatji said the suspect in his early 30s was asked about the ownership of the property and he could not account for it. He said, “The suspect tried to run away but the police caught him.” He was detained at Yeoville Police Station and was charged for being in possession of stolen property. He was expected to appear in the Hillbrow Magistrate’s Court.
