VW Polos still targeted by criminals

PARKHURST – PARKVIEW police have issued a warning to VW Polo owners as the vehicle has been a target of criminals operating in the area.

Police spokesperson Sergeant Lloyd Ramovha said they have seen an increase in the number of Polos being targeted in the Parkhurst and neighbouring areas.

Because residents in the area have small yards, visitors to the area have to park on the streets overnight.

According to Ramovha these vehicles are easy and quick to steal. And he made an appeal to community members not park their vehicles unattended, overnight in the streets.

He said vehicles being reported stolen were predominantly VW Polos and asked owners of the vehicle to be cautious.

Residents were also advised not to leave any valuable items visible in their vehicle as this attracts potential criminals.
