Police urge victims to identify dreadlocked robber

ROSEBANK – POLICE are calling on people who have been victims of armed, house or business robberies, where a dreadlocked suspect was involved to attend an identity parade at the Rosebank Police Station.

This follows the arrest of a 26-year-old dreadlocked man who is believed to be part of a group that has been committing several robberies in Saxonwold, Forest Town and surrounding areas.

The suspect was arrested when an unmarked Metro police vehicle noticed three suspicions people on Oxford Road. When police approached the suspects, two managed to flee but the dreadlocked man was promptly apprehended. Police believe the suspects were about to commit an armed robbery.

Rosebank police spokesperson, Sergeant Bongi Mdletshe, said they believed the suspect may be linked to several robberies in the area as his physical attributes fitted the description of a suspect who was involved in number of reported cases.

Mdletshe appealed to members of the community who have been victims of armed, house or business robberies to come to the police station with their case number, and ask for Sergeant Angus Morton, where they will have an identity parade.

He also called on anyone who may have information that could lead to the arrest of the other two suspects to come forward.
