Local celebs to represent international alcohol brand
HOUGHTON - A new endorsement deal a few local a-list celebrities have signed into with international alcohol brand, Ciroc is set to determine their selling power.
It was announced at a press conference in Houghton on 29 October, that musicians Da L.E.S., DJ Dimplez, couturier David Tlale and model and presenter Bonang Matheba would represent the alcohol brand.
“Together, these personalities embody the character that makes up a uniquely Ciroc experience and lifestyle. As we welcome them to a new stage upon which to celebrate their achievements, the Ciroc Circle is also indicative of South Africa’s new-found international celebration status,” said Dominic Meaning, head of Reserve.
Mathebe, Da L.E.S., DJ Dimples and Tlale are considered to be respectable faces and sometimes a little rebellious too (well, to some extent).
Ciroc is no stranger to the world of celebrity endorsements with other international artists like popular rapper, Rick Ross and producer, Puffy Combs having also represented the brand.
It would appear the vodka brand believes in the notion “celebrity sells” with hopes that when consumers believe that their favourite celebrities prefer their product, their sales will hit the roof.
Photos shared on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook by South African party-goers suggest the brand can’t be too off the mark as many of these images portray how normal South Africans like to live vicariously through the products and services that celebrities are tied to.
The four celebrities have quite a bit on their plate already, but they all admit the deal will see them doing bigger and better things.
Da L.E.S. just returned from shooting a music video in the states. With his new deal, the rapper is looking forward to his annual white party on 16 December with the hope that with the alcohol brand on board, the party would be much bigger than what it was the year before.
Mathebe was quite excited, but also hinted at more surprise announcements that would be made in the near future.
With one foot already on the international field, having shown his designs at New York Fashion Week, Tlale promised to bring to life an opulent style along with attention to detail and quality.
With a current number one hit (“Yaya”) on 5fm, top South African entertainer, DJ Dimplez, completes the circle.
