Two tactical arrests
DUNKELD - TWO suspects were apprehended by security company CSS Tactical on the corner of Smits and Jan Smuts avenues on 17 November.
Initially it was suspected that the car used by the pair, a dark blue Citi Golf, was stolen. CSS tactical reported that equipment used for housebreaking was found in their possession.
The suspects were detained at Rosebank Police Station. Spokesperson, Sergeant Bongi Mdletshe, confirmed that the pair appeared in the Hillbrow Magistrates’ Court on 19 November to face charges of malicious damage to property, as they had allegedly attempted to tamper with a speed camera on Jan Smuts Avenue.
Mdletshe also said the Citi Golf was cleared, and therefore the two suspects were not charged with possession of stolen property.
