Reason proclaims his gaaaAHDbody

BRAAMFONTEIN – Sizwe ‘Reason’ Moeketsi launched his second album under Motif Records at a private party at Bullion Bar in Braamfontein on 21 November.

The event was intimate and only open to a select few, including media, record company representatives, family and friends.

Having worked with South African legends including Thandiswa Mazwai and HHP, and more recently popular artists like Donald and LOCNVL, Reason suggests that his sound is more dimensional than that of the typical rapper.

“They [My fans] can expect honesty, sincerity, creativity, musicality, edge and most of all amazing raps… This is my best work yet and I really can’t wait to share it with the world,” said Reason in an earlier interview with City Buzz.

Reason came up as a battle rapper and made people take notice of him as he continued to enter competitions.

But it was when he started making appearances on YFM delivering breakfast jingles for DJ Fresh on “The Unrestricted Breakfast Show” in 2005 that the hip-hop industry saw him as a threat.

It was a slow rise, but the rapper joined Motif Records in 2011, and this marked a new step in his career.

Reason gained much popularity after he featured his first official label release in June 2012 with singles like Do it like I can.

The rapper has come a long way from battling on street corners to now being labelled as one of South Africa’s top MC’s.

His new album is available on iTunes and in stores.
