Man caught raping woman (65) at Zoo Lake
PARKVIEW - PARKVIEW Police arrested a 23-year-old male in connection with the rape of a 65-year-old woman at Zoo Lake on Friday 16 January at around 9am.
According to police spokesperson, Sergeant Lloyd Ramovha, an eyewitness on the scene heard a woman screaming and when she went to investigate with her colleague, she noticed an unknown male raping an elderly woman.
The two witnesses then screamed for help which caused passers-by to stop and assist.
They managed to stop the suspect who was running away at the time.
Police were called to the scene and responded immediately.
The suspect was arrested and detained at Parkview Police Station. He will appear in court soon.
