UPDATE: Armed robbery at Parktown North convenience store
PARKTOWN NORTH -An armed robbery took place yesterday at a convenience store.
UPDATE: 21 January 2015, 12:15pm – “Three men pointed a gun at a customer and the owner, requesting the owner to open the tills. The men then took all the money. I’m not sure how much,” said Collen Ntsane, an employee at the store who works in the food department.
Ntsane was at the back of the store when three men walked inside, pointing guns at the customer and store owner.
Nobody was hurt during the incident. According to residents in the area, there have been a few robberies in the area which have all been reported. Parkview Police Station attended to the crime, however are still yet to comment.
Initial report: 21 January 2015, 10am – An armed robbery occurred in Parktown North on 4th Avenue on 20 January at about 8pm.
Although it has not yet been confirmed, apparently three men held up an owner and one staff member at a convenience store.
It is reported that R7 000 was stolen and nobody was injured. Only one of the men was armed.
