Facebook moves to Joburg!
JOBURG - Rumour has it that Facebook is set to open operations soon in Melrose arch, Johannesburg.
This was after a job post for regional measurement lead was posted on LinkedIn by the social media giant.
According to the job post, the new regional measurement lead is to help strengthen the company’s (Facebook) advertising growth in Africa and South Africa.
Many South Africans went to Twitter to state their views:
“Another thing, Facebook might be opening up shop in Johannesburg ….How cool is that?” said WE ARE OB (@MenziXL)
“Facebook looks like it may be setting up a Johannesburg office to boost advertising growth in SA and Africa,” said TeamMediaMix (@TeamMediaMix).
And finally “They’re opening an office in Melrose Arch,” said Matthew Buckland (@matthewbuckland)
Cassandra van Rooyen, commercial worker liaison for the Amdeck Group Owners of Melrose Arch, would neither confirm nor deny this.
