Whatsapp-ening on your desktop
JOBURG -Whatsapp is now available as an application on your laptop or desktop computer, for those of you who have grown tired of typing stories to friends and family on minuscule cellphone keypads.
At this time the application seems to only work on Google Chrome.
In order for Whatsapp users to log in on their desktop it is necessary to take a picture of a QR code on your Whatsapp to verify your number and password on the desktop – a task that may become clearer when actually attempting to download the desktop version.
It’s been reported that Whatsapp for your desktop is only available to Android, Windows and Blackberry phones, with iOS (Apple) users being excluded due to ‘Apple platform limitations’.
The desktop version of the app seems to feed off your cellphone connection, meaning that when your cellphone dies then your Whatsapp desktop connection goes with it.
