UPDATE: Body found at Orange Grove BP (Video)

ORANGE GROVE - A dead body was found at the local BP petrol station in Orange Grove this morning.

Sergeant Nurse Sanyane, from Norwood police said, “A male was thought to be sleeping on 11th Street in Orange Grove. Upon further investigation, it appeared that a male believed to be in his late 50s, early 60s has passed away, at this stage it appears that he may have succumbed as a result of being ill.”

Initial report: The dead body of a man believed to be in his 50s was found in Orange Grove earlier this morning at the local BP petrol station on 11th Street.

The owner of the BP petrol station, John Gatti said, “We thought the man was asleep. He was, however, dead. Attendants from the petrol station discovered the body at 6.10am this morning.”

Sergeant Nurse Sanyane of Norwood Police said, “We do not think that there is any foul play involved, we are currently investigating the matter.”

Patric Mogalati, a resident from Orange Grove said, “The man was homeless. I had given him a pair of my old shoes on Wednesday and he asked if he could have some money to fight a cold. The man was regularly seen around the area of Orange Grove.”
