UPDATE: Suspect arrested following Louis Botha accident
JOBURG - A second person has died following an accident which involved two taxis on Louis Botha Avenue on 26 January.
27 January 8am – According to police spokesperson Warrant Officer Moses Maphakela, one suspect has been arrested following the horrific crash where a young child and a man were killed on Louis Botha Avenue yesterday afternoon.
27 January; 7.33 am – According to EWN, the Gauteng Education Department said it will offer counselling to school children who were involved in the accident.
A young child and a man were killed in the collision.
About 21 school children were injured in the accident.
Eyewitness reportedly said the children had been standing on the side of the road when a car crashed into another vehicle, hitting the group.

A child has been killed and many others left injured following a taxi crash on Louis Botha Avenue.
It is believed that a child was killed and several other children have been left in a critical condition following a taxi crash involving 2 taxis on Louis Botha Avenue earlier this afternoon.
The crash took place near the Corlette Drive intersection. It is believed that the road has been blocked off and pedestrians are also involved in the crash.
According to Chris Rob from EMS, “One child died and several other school children have been left injured. Nine others have sustained serious injuries and the road has been since blocked off.”
