Know where you are in Auckland Park
JOBURG - It’s time, once more, to find out how well you know your city.
Exploring Johannesburg can sometimes have its moments of paralysing terror when sitting in traffic and fending off hawkers in the street, but it also has its moments of awe-inspiring wonder and intrigue when stumbling upon a trendy market or comedy club.
The city can also leave you feeling lost and disorientated, and that’s why we’re giving you insider advice on how to find your way around by taking a look at the street art around you.
This week City Buzz took to the streets of Auckland Park to find something interesting on the walls of our city.
Would you know where you are in Auckland Park if you saw this tag?
This piece is situated on the corner of Cookham and Richmond avenues in Auckland Park.
If you’re wondering where to go from here, City Buzz has the answers for you. If you walk east on Richmond Avenue, towards Braamfontein, you will find the SABC Studios, where you might be looking to meet a 5fm radio DJ.
You will also find Media24 offices in the area, should you be looking to find out how the Sunday Sun newspaper or You magazine is made.
Should you travel north, towards Melville, on Cookham Road, you will find yourself on Kingsway Avenue where you can travel east towards the University of Johannesburg’s Kingsway campus, and you’ll also find Campus Square to grab a bite to eat or do some shopping.
There’s no reason to ever get lost in the city if you keep informed with City Buzz.
