Parkview and greater Region B residents convene non-partisan meeting before 2026 elections

Joburg Crisis Alliance partners with local groups to document municipal grievances and establish a binding service delivery mandate for all contesting political leadership.

As widespread service delivery challenges and infrastructure decay continue to impact communities across Johannesburg, residents of Parkview and greater Region B are convening a strategic nonpartisan community meeting ahead of the 2026 local government elections.

On June 6, the Joburg Crisis Alliance (JCA), in partnership with other local community organisations, will host this regional community mobilisation gathering from 10am to 11:30am at St Columba’s Presbyterian Church, Lurgan Avenue, Parkview.

Moving past party-political rhetoric, the meeting will serve as a platform for residents to collectively document their specific municipal grievances and establish a binding service delivery mandate that all contesting political leadership must be held accountable to.

These gatherings highlight a growing national trend of communities directly organising under civic structures to address the systemic collapse of municipal governance and reclaim local accountability.

Media opportunities include on the record statements from JCA leadership outlining the alliance’s strategic roadmap for the 2026 elections; first hand accounts from residents and small business owners describing the real world impact of ongoing municipal failures on their lives and livelihoods; and visuals showcasing strong community turnout, active public engagement, and residents submitting official municipal queries to be consolidated into the JCA civic mandate.
