Know where you are in the big city

JOHANNESBURG - Know where you are in the city.

We’re always here to assist you when it comes to CBD 911, so don’t fret as we’ll help you find your way through the city.

Visiting the city can be frightening for some – especially after a number of video recordings surfaced of armed robberies taking place – but we’re here to let you know that it doesn’t have to be a scary place any longer.

The city is filled with hidden gems – places of exceptional quality that you’d never expect to find in the concrete jungle and that’s why people love to visit.

The art found in the city is culturally rich and diverse and really functions as an attraction on its own – as we’ve seen with the increasing number of Instawalks that take place in the city to capture the intricate art.

Do you know where this piece of art can be found?

If you’ve seen this, then you’re on your way to discovering the history of man and life on the entire planet.

This place attracts both students and the general public and holds various interesting exhibitions throughout the year. It also helps individuals discover more about their own family tree by allowing the public to take part in DNA testing.

If you guessed Origins Centre at Wits University, you would be correct.

The art piece is found at the entrance of the museum itself, which was founded more 10 years ago.

Since it first opened, the venue has seen numerous visitors through its doors and a number of exhibitions including the evolution of man, the story of the San people and the interpretation of rock art, among others, have been on display.

The entrance to Origins is located on the corner of Yale and Enoch Sontonga streets in Braamfontein and from here, you can grab a meal at the centre’s own Café Fino or check out Wits’ vast campus.

It’s no longer such a scary city when you know where you are.
