Students protest in the nude at Wits
JOBURG - Students at Wits University stood in solidarity against women abuse in South Africa during a naked protest.

A feminist march took place earlier today at Wits University. The protesters were seen topless at the university
It is believed that the student protest was in consolidation against Women Abuse and the #RUReferenceList. (Scroll down to view the statement released by the Wits SRC.)

The Wits SRC has since released a statement regarding the protest. The statement reads:
We as South Africans live in a society with one of the highest rates of gender based harm and violent crime against womxn in the world. We live in a society in which rape culture is to a large extent normalized and has for far too long been allowed to continue without significant challenge. We live in a society with a justice system that consistently fails rape victims and rape survivors in the fight for justice, if not actively dissuading them from seeking it. Indeed the system is failing us. Click here to view the full statement.
