Ice Age: Collision Course in cinemas

ROSEBANK–- Children and their parents come out in their numbers for the new Ice Age movie.

The Zone Ster-Kinekor was filled with happy children on 9 July as they engaged in fun activities, received balloons, had their faces painted, got goodie bags and more, before they could head out to watch the release of the 3D Ice Age: Collision Course.

“I really enjoyed myself, the movie was really fun and the ice pictures were so cool it felt like I could feel them,” said six-year-old Tae Singh.

An ice sculptor also wowed the children, along with their parents, as he sculpted a block of ice into the Ice Age character, Sid. Upon completion of the sculpture, the children were allowed to take a selfie with Sid.

Another happy chappie was nine-year-old Wade Smith, who said he enjoyed playing snakes and ladders and meeting other children. He said he enjoyed the movie because it was so funny.

In the movie, the famous character Scrat’s legendary pursuit of the ever-elusive acorn finds him in outer space where he inadvertently causes a series of cosmic events that threaten the planet. In order to rescue the World of Ice Age, Sid, Manny, Diego and the gang embark on an epic quest which takes them to exotic lands and puts them face-to-face with a new, yet not-so-new enemy.

Directed by Galen T Chu and Mike Thurmeier, the film features the voices of Jennifer Lopez, Melissa Rauch, Ray Romano, John Leguizamo, Adam Devine, Denis Leary and Stephanie Beatriz, among others. The original Ice Age co-director, Chris Wedge, voices the lovable squirrel, Scrat.
