Miss Earth SA calls on volunteers

JOHANNESBURG – Miss Earth SA invites residents to join Mandela Day festivities in Soweto.

The Miss Earth South Africa pageant is appealing to residents to assist the organisation and volunteer to take part in the organisation’s Mandela Day project this week.

The organisation will spend a few hours at Lulama Primary School in Pimville, Soweto on 15 July and will spend the time planting a vegetable garden and painting flower pots for the school. The visit will also see the school’s corridors decorated with the national flag and fun-filled activities take place, including a game of soccer with the pupils.

The event will run from 9am to midday, and those interested in volunteering are requested to bring non-perishable food for the school’s kitchen.

Volunteers can contact the organisation for more information on the planned visit to Soweto.
