Hope for women
JOBURG – Dr Hope Sibuyi shows her passion for women and the community in Women's Month.
Dr Hope Sibuyi is not only a wife and mother to three children but also a leader, motivational speaker, businesswoman, and even a pastor.
Born in Limpopo and now based in Johannesburg CBD, she is fighting for women’s rights.
“The love for helping people came from a young age. When I was 14 I formed and led a group of girls called Sweet Inspiration. The group made so much positive impact in the community through developing the confidence of young girls,” she said of the origin of her passion for helping others.
As the founder of the Rope 4 Hope Movement, an initiative that helps women find and empower themselves at any age, she has used this platform to creatie a powerful voice for young girls and women.
Having managed to reach more than 60 000 women across the country, she decided to join forces with a number of institutions including the City of Joburg, University of Johannesburg, and church Chariot of Fire to help in her quest to eradicate violence against women.
On 8 August, just one day before National Women’s Day, she rallied supporters of her cause through the streets of Joburg and marched to raise awareness of the plight of women who are seen as vulnerable in society.
The businesswoman and her husband, Prof. Moses Sibuyi, serve as senior pastors at the Chariot of Fire Tabernacle, a church located in Hillbrow, and they are committed to changing lives by inspiring and extending a helping hand to those in need. As a woman focused on community development, she shows no sign of slowing down and is more committed to uplifting the people who she comes into contact with than ever before.
