Recharge your batteries and your laptop’s, too

JOBURG – Eat out and recharge in the city.

We’re not only talking about recharging yourself but your electronics too.

In our fast-paced lives, we often find ourselves in the city with no way to charge our electronic devices and in desperate need of a speedy snack.

While The Smokehouse Grill provides an awesome meal and Father Coffee provides a delicious coffee fix, these are not the places where you’re going to find a plug point for your laptop.

Now, while many restaurants have charging stations, we’re going to list just a few that go above and beyond – making provision for multiple port types, multiple devices simultaneously and even those of us in need of Wi-Fi.

  • Bread and Roses

Bread and Roses is the quaint, eclectically-styled café in Melville that has become a hotspot for food and internet lovers in the city. This spot has a plug point at every table on the upper platform and Wi-Fi available for laptop users. In addition, staff go above and beyond to find two-point plugs, to cater to every visitor’s needs. Let’s not forget that their menu is equipped with meals ranging from bread baskets to omelettes and heavier dishes for the ravenous.

  • Post

Homemade lemonade and delicious brownies come with a Wi-Fi password at Post in Braamfontein. The café serves coffee, sweet treats and light breakfast and lunch dishes and, although it’s small, is the perfect place to charge all your devices – there are plugs at every table.

  • Origin

Origin in Maboneng is the second franchise from the hugely successful Origin café in Cape Town. While it is known for its artisan coffee and exquisite filtering methods, it has become even more popular as a place to work and hold important meetings. With a number of extension adaptors and seating, there is ample space, time and beautiful aroma to get all your work done.

  • Craft Coffee

Located in Newtown, this coffee spot is one of a kind in the area and provides refuge for those looking to get off the busy streets and put in some work. Craft Coffee is all coffee and tea, with small nibbles – usually cupcakes, biscuits or crunchies. Each table is equipped with its own set of plugs, allowing for phones and laptops to get a much-needed recharge – all at the same time.

Don’t let your batteries run flat, get to one of these spots now.
