A night out under the stars
JO'BURG – A movie night under the moon for the entire family.
Roosevelt High School is the chosen venue for this year’s edition of Movie Night Under The Moon which organisers say will be a magical event to relax and socialise.
Set to take place on 5 November, the event promises a day filled with fun activities and a night of complete bliss for the entire family where a proudly South African movie will be screened.
“We screen locally produced films only,” said Tumi Mofokeng, event coordinator. “The Jakes Are Missing movie seemed to be quite a fitting movie for this season as it is more family orientated.”
According to Mofokeng, the annual event which will start taking place quarterly as of next year, has made special provision for couples who wish to make it a memorable night. With assistance from Dial-A-Picnic, couples can create new memories by enjoying a romantic time under the moon.
“Previously a couple got engaged at the event and it was from there that we decided that we can create a platform where people can either wish each other happy birthdays, get engaged or make surprising yet exciting announcements to their loved ones,” said Mofokeng.
Tickets are now available at Computicket with standard tickets going for R150, couples ticket costing R270 and group or family (of five) tickets selling for R600.
Those who will be part of this experience can bring picnic baskets, blankets, board games, beanbags, camp chairs and umbrellas. Braai stands, glass bottles, animals, drugs and weapons are strictly prohibited to ensure a safe environment for all and alcohol will be sold at the venue.
Secure parking will be provided at the event and a number of vendors will sell food and drinks on the day.
