Gresswold School to host meeting on upgrade of local parks
SAVOY – Residents urged to attend upcoming meeting at Gresswold School on development of parks.
Johannesburg City Parks and Zoo are planning to upgrade two parks in Ward 74.
The Weinberg Family Park on Hastings Avenue in Savoy and Gresswold Park on Hathaway Road are earmarked for upgrades.
Ward 74 councillor Dave Fisher said there would be a public meeting held at Gresswold Senior School on 9 November at 6pm at which residents will be given a presentation of the design and scope of the upgrades.
“The landscape architect will discuss the design principals and engage with the community to get suggestions and input regarding the upgrades,” he said.
Fisher encouraged all local residents to attend and participate in this exciting development. He added that the upgrades were part of the bigger Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project that would transform the corridor along Louis Botha Avenue.
“Residents and local businesses have been very patient during the disruptive construction. The completed project will have many positive benefits for all our residents,” said Fisher.
