New house robbery trend warning
PARKVIEW – Police warn residents of new house robbery trend.
Parkview police would like to urge the community to be extra vigilant and make sure staff don’t open for unknown persons.
This comes after they noticed a new trend in house robberies. “We are very disturbed at Parkview Police Station about some of the house robberies that are being committed, whereby a helper will allege that people have buzzed the intercom.
“The person then alleges that they are coming to deliver something and the helper opens for them,” explained Colonel Sandile Mkhize station commander for Parkview Police Station.
He explained that this seems to be the trend during the months of June, and September until mid-December as these are seen as festive times. “It is very disturbing. Furthermore, it is evident that these criminals are using bakkies and wearing blue overalls, so please, when you notice such, call the police as well as security,” added Mkhize.
He said his deepest appeal to his dearest residents is, if possible to ensure deliveries are made when they are home or at their workplace. “Parkview Police Station would like to ensure that their community members are safe, so please report any suspicious activity to us,” said Mkhize.
