‘Thanks, Parkview’

PARKVIEW – Warrant Officer Jannie Gilbert Titties is praised for his great work.

A commuter travelling through the Parktown area, Angelique Steyn, said she is really grateful and happy with the way Parkview police treated her after a traumatic experience.
She was recently involved in a car accident on the M1 highway near Jan Smuts Avenue. “Metro police were on scene and told me to go to Parkview Police Station to open a case. When I walked into the station, I already felt that they were, from the get-go, very helpful.”

Steyn explained that she was then helped by Warrant Officer Jannie Gilbert Titties to open an accident report. “Although he explained to me that I should be opening the case at Hillbrow Police Station, he still said that he wouldn’t mind assisting me and get the file transferred there. He could see that I was still in shock and proceeded to help me,” she said.

Steyn added that, as a female, she was very sceptical about going into Hillbrow and she felt that the officers at Parkview really went the extra mile to help her. “It goes without saying that they should be recognised for being so helpful to the public. I can’t express my gratitude to them for making me feel calm again.

“They do go above and beyond their duty and I hope this will assist in showing people we still have some real dedicated officers.”
Although she does not reside in the Parkview precinct she said it was amazing to see how police stations vary, because the one that protects her area is not as welcoming as Parkview Police Station.
