Criminals to face the music

PARKVIEW – A number of suspects have been arrested for various crimes committed during the month of November.

 

Parkview police are cracking the whip on crime and it’s evident by the number of successful arrests made during the month of November.

Forty-five suspects were arrested and charged for various crimes between 1 and 22 November and police said they were determined to keep criminals off the streets of Parkview and surrounds to ensure the safety of all residents.

Suspects were arrested for the following:

  •  Grievous bodily harm (4)
  •  Business burglary (1)
  •  Motor vehicle theft (2)
  • General theft (12)
  • Drunk driving (16)
  • Attempted aggravating robbery (1)
  • Common assault (5)
  • Fraud (1)
  • Malicious damage to property (2)
  • Intimidation (1)

According to Parkview police’s Captain Tintswalo Sibeko, all suspects have appeared in the Hillbrow and Johannesburg magistrates’ courts to face these charges. Residents are urged to be vigilant at all times and to take necessary precautions to remain safe as we head towards the festive season.
