Sydenham residents urged to attend meeting

SYDENHAM – A new committee will be chosen at the 9 February meeting, which may be attended only by residents to avoid having undesirables snooping around to glean sensitive information.

The Sydenham Residents Association has called on the community to attend its general meeting on 9 February.

Spokesperson Alisa Scott said, “Residents are invited to be involved in the selection process of the new committee, or to oppose the selection of the new committee members, as the case may be.

“There will be a presentation on CAP [Community Active Protection ] and security in Sydenham, [fibre optic installation] in Sydenham, community projects that the Sydenham Residents Association is initiating, and changes to social media that the Sydenham Residents Association is currently using.”

The meeting will be held at the Jabula Recreation Centre from 7pm.

“Some content is security sensitive. We only want actual residents attending and wish to ensure that no criminal elements are present. “For this reason, we request that all attendees bring identification and proof of residence to the meeting,” Scott said.

Residents with any questions for CAP prior to the meeting can send an email.
