A builder contracted by the Holistic Medical Centre for renovations has been dumping rubble on the pavement next to the centre which has restricted pedestrians from walking passed.
Renovations at the centre, situated on Jan Smuts Avenue, began last year and rubble piled up on the pavement while construction was underway.

When approached, the builder who refused to identify himself, claimed he was awaiting a truck to collect the rubble. According to the builder, the heaps of sand which were also blocking the pavement at the time, would be moved inside the property.
However, when Rosebank Killarney Gazette visited the site recently, and a considerable amount of rubble was still on the pavement.

Metro police’s Wayne Minnaar warned builders who dumped rubble on the sidewalk and said, “They will face a hefty fine if caught, as their actions infringed bylaws. Contractors have the responsibility to dump all rubble at the designated Pikitup sites.
“Residents are urged to report illegal dumping with the bylaws department.”
The property owner of the Holistic Medical Centre, Zayn Angamia was contacted but did not want to comment.
