Police keep criminals off the streets

PARKVIEW – 45 suspects arrested in the area for various crimes last month.

 

Parkview police are clamping down on crime.

According to Captain Tintswalo Sibeko, the station’s spokesperson, 45 suspects were arrested for various crimes last month.

Those nabbed face the following charges:

  • 2 for theft of a motor vehicle
  • 6 for possession of suspected stolen property
  • 2 for housebreaking and possession of suspected stolen property
  • 1 for theft out of a motor vehicle
  • 3 for possession of a hijacked vehicle
  • 1 for possession of dagga
  • 2 for common assault
  • 1 for assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm
  • 2 for malicious damage to property
  • 7 for theft
  • 1 for trespassing
  • 16 for drunk driving
  • 1 for armed robbery.

“All suspects have appeared in the Hillbrow and Johannesburg magistrates’ courts to face these charges,” said Sibeko.
