Two suspects aged between 25 and 29 who were in possession of stolen vehicle batteries said to be valued at R9 000, were nabbed by Johannesburg Central Police at the corner of Pritchard and End Street on 22 February.
“It is alleged that two suspects stole [at least] two batteries from a stationary minibus vehicle belonging to a 33-year old female. The woman followed the suspects before noticing a police vehicle on patrol,” said Xoli Mbele, spokesperson for the Joburg Central Police.
“The victim alerted the police and both suspects were apprehended at approximately 6pm. The stolen batteries were recovered in the process.”
Mbele said a police investigation was underway. The suspects will appear in the Joburg Magistrates’ Court soon.
