Norwood police crime successes

NORWOOD – Norwood police officers have made a series of arrests in the Norwood policing precinct between 24 February and 3 March.

Norwood Police Station made a number of arrests from 21 February and 3 March.

The spokesperson for the station, Elliot Tshivhase said, “Norwood police officers arrested a total of 42 suspects for committing different crimes ranging from theft to assault.”

The arrests made are as follows:

  • 1 suspect fraud
  • 5 illegal immigrants arrested
  • 1 suspect for common assault
  • 2 suspects for assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm
  • 2 suspects for shoplifting
  • 3 suspects with a warrant of arrest were taken into custody
  • 1 suspect for trespassing
  • 2 suspects for the possession of a stolen vehicle
  • 1 suspect for being in possession of an unlicensed firearm
  • 1 suspect for theft out of a motor vehicle
  • 2 suspects for possession of a suspected stolen motor vehicle
  • 21 suspects for driving under the influence.
