Parkview police arrest suspect for attempted hijacking in Craighall Park

PARKVIEW – On 12 March, one of the suspects was traced and was arrested in Soshanguve.

 

A man was arrested by Parkview police officers for attempted hijacking after a case was reported on 27 February.

“It is alleged that the victim was driving from Hyde Park when he noticed that there was a silver VW Golf following him. When he arrived at Abbey Road in Craighall Park, the suspects overtook him and as he entered his premises the two suspects [occupants of the Golf] also followed him.

“One of them [allegedly] pointed a firearm at him and the other suspect tried to open the door,” explained Captain Tintswalo Sibeko, spokesperson for Parkview Police Station.

According to Sibeko, the victim reversed his vehicle and the suspects ran away.

The complainant reported a case of attempted hijacking and it was allocated to Sergeant Shadrack Milondzo who conducted the investigation.

On 12 March, one of the suspects was traced and Milondzo and Sergeant Tshifhiwa Muluvhu arrested him in Soshanguve.

The suspect will appear in Johannesburg Magistrates’ Court to face charges of attempted hijacking.
