Restaurant hosts celebs for cook-off in Parktown North
Parktown - Celebrities take part in cook off.
Restaurant franchise, Simply Asia held the semifinal of its celebrity cook-off, Ready, Steady, Wok, in Parktown North.
The two contestants battling it out were Jacob Moshokoa, a 947 sports and news presenter and Innocentia Makapila, the popular Muvhango actress.
The contestants were able to watch two Simply Asia chefs do a demonstration of two Thai dishes before being given 10 minutes to recreate them.
Moshokoa and Makapila had to prepare a spicy noodle dish and an egg and rice dish. They cooked side by side preparing their dishes in front of an audience.
Makapila said, “I do cook at home but nothing Asian though so I’m a little worried.” Moshokoa and Makapila were both nervous about the flames coming from the gas stoves while preparing their meals, however, both managed to prepare both dishes in the allocated time.

“I’m a bachelor, you know, so if I was making burgers that would be so much easier or calling the nearest Andiccio pizza, so you can just expect me to wing it,” said Moshokoa.
Four judges conducted a blind tasting of each dish and all said it was a very close call. However, in the end, Makapila was announced as the winner of the semifinal cook-off.
Makapila will battle against comedian Chris Forrest and DJ Shoosh in the finals of the celebrity cook-off.
