Proactive policing on the part of Metro police officers resulted in 12 big parcels of knock-off big-name brands being discovered and subsequently seized in the early hours of this morning.
“Acting on a tip-off, officers and clothing brand representatives made the discovery of the sneakers, made up of well-known brands such as Nike, Adidas, and Converse with a street value of approximately R1 million being off-loaded from a taxi at the corner of Delvers and Reaana Moosa streets in the Joburg CBD,” Metro police spokesperson, Wayne Minnaar said.
“No arrests have been made as yet, however, the takkies were confiscated and will be stored at a warehouse in Midrand pending the criminal investigation and will then be destroyed,” Minnaar added.
