Orange Grove resident Matsi Menu makes it to Mrs SA finals and hopes to do more work in the community

NORWOOD – 'I love children and if I had it my way no child in South Africa would even experience pain.'

Orange Grove resident, Matsi Menu has been selected as a finalist for the Mrs South Africa pageant where she will be competing against 24 other finalists for the crown.

Menu wears many hats that include being a wife, a mother of two, a business owner, a founder and part-owner of a real estate company, and is a model for Boss Models.

“My modelling career started at the age of 19 and it has been a great journey,” she said. “I have had the pleasure of gracing the pages of Marie-Clare and Elle magazine to mention but a few. I have also walked the international fashion ramps for designers like Jasper Conrad and here at home, Rubicon, David Tlale and a whole lot more.”

Her career in real estate started six years ago. “I grew to love the industry and because of my passion for it, I went on to start my real estate company where I have partners.”

A few months ago Menu was involved in a recycling campaign with MPact Recycling, South Africa’s largest paper recycler, at Norwood Primary School where they taught children how to recycle and help keep the community clean.

“I find joy and value in giving back to the community. I love children and if I had it my way no child in South Africa would even experience pain. My love for children led me to service at church as a children’s church teacher.”

She said she entered Mrs South Africa because not only does she see it as an event that empowers women but also sees it as an excellent way to help fulfill her community work.

“There is a lot to be done and I had to learn that it starts with me.”
