Norwood Community Policing Forum to host meeting and residents are invited

NORWOOD – Chief Public Prosecutor, Advocate Phumeza Futshane to address residents at NCPF meeting

 

Norwood Community Policing Forum will host a meeting on 7 June at Shepstone Gardens in Norwood to update the community about developments within the area and to discuss various issues.

Victim support programmes, crime combating interventions and judicial matters will be discussed at the meeting.

Local police, as well as Metro police, will be present at the meeting to address crime issues.

Chief Public Prosecutor, Advocate Phumeza Futshane from Johannesburg Magistrates’ Court is also expected to address residents.

Ward 73 councillor Eleanor Hugget will discuss municipal issues with the residents.

“It is important for the community to attend these meetings because much information is shared which can be useful to them. We are inviting everyone within our area of service so that they can come and find out what interventions are put in place in the fight against crime,” said Lesego Mookapele, secretary of the forum.

The invitation is extended to Norwood, Sandringham, Orange Grove and Houghton residents.

The meetings are held on a monthly basis and Mookapele said residents need to be part of them so they can play a role in reducing crime.
